Two killed in Yamuna e-way road accident

Greater Noida: Two persons were killed while one was critically injured after an unidentified vehicle hit them while they were changing a punctured tyre of their truck in Rabupura area at Yamuna Expressway on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Police ruled out the possibility of low visibility on road due to fog and said that the case appears to be a fallout of rash driving.

According to police, the incident took place around 1 am under Rabupura police station area at Yamuna Expressway. The deceased identified as Avdesh and Jai Singh, natives of Haryana, succumbed to injuries while Ankit, the helper, was critically injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jewar area.

"Late on Thursday night, Police, after receiving a PCR call from passerby, rushed to the spot and found that the trio of men were hit by an unidentified vehicle which was travelling from Haryana to Delhi and was parked on the left side of road. Police team immediately rescued the victims to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared two persons dead on arrival while a man suffered severe injuries. The bodies were sent for post mortem examination and further investigations into the case are underway," said Sunil Kumar Singh, Station House officer of Rabupura police station.

The officer further said that an FIR has been registered into the case against the unidentified vehicle and driver.

"We have registered a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections," added Singh.
