Two held for snatching woman's chain at knife point

NEW DELHI: A sensational case of snatching, where a woman was robbed of her gold chain by two bikers on knife point in front her young son, was solved with the arrest of the accused, police said on Friday.

The incident was reported from Khajoori Khas area of north east Delhi on October 26. At around 9.30 pm, when the woman was taking her seven-year-old son from tuition to home, two men on a bike intercepted her.

The man riding pillion grabbed her neck to try to snatch her gold chain. When she resisted, he got off the bike, placed a knife at her neck and threatened her as the child stood behind her terrified.

CCTV cameras in the lane recorded the incident, showing her trying to walk away after being robbed. However, the accused again leapt at her to steal a broken part of the chain. He then grabbed her by the neck he stole the broken part.

Later, a team led by inspector Pramod Joshi, SHO, Gokalpuri arrested the two accused, identified as Nadeem and Faizan, both resident of Nehru Vihar. The chain was also recovered from their possession.
