Two held for robbing Flipkart truck of goods worth Rs 20L

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two robbers who had robbed consignments of e-commerce major Flipkart, while it was en route the airport from its warehouse.
Police said the accused were identified as Gaurav Kumar (22), resident of Purana Shiv Mandir in New Delhi's Rangpuri, and Guddu Kumar (22), resident of Bhorgarh in Delhi's Narela.
67 parcels containing mobile phones, clothes, shoes worth Rs 20 lakh were recovered from the duo, cops added.
On February 8, Rajeev, a truck driver for Flipkart, told cops that the previous night, while driving a consignment from Flipkart's warehouse to IGI Airport, he was intercepted by four persons on two vehicles near Dhulsiras Chowk.
They overpowered him, took the truck to a secluded place, tied his limbs together and covered his mouth with a cloth, dropped him in the bushes and ran away with the goods from the truck.
On February 9, based on a tip-off, a police team apprehended Gaurav and Guddu Kumar from Narela.
During interrogation, they disclosed that they, along with their associates Vinit and Lallan Yadav, had robbed the truck near Dwarka.
"They revealed that they had shifted the stolen articles to a rented shop in Bhorgarh village and could recover the same. They pointed out the shop in village Bhorgarh and, on their instance, 67 parcels of plastics bags containing mobile phones, clothes, shoes, etc worth Rs 20 lakh were recovered," said DCP (Crime) Ram Gopal Naik on Wednesday.
