Two held for committing series of snatchings

New Delhi: A 24-year-old man was arrested along with his friend involved in various snatching and stealing cases in the city on Saturday.
The arrested persons were identified as Amir Siddique from Paschim Vihar and his friend Sagar Singh, also 24-years-old, from Mangolpuri.
Police claimed that both also committed crimes in order to arrange money for Amir's sister marriage. Police also said that the two were arrested in B-block locality of Mangolpuri.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Amit Sharma on Sunday said the accused were arrested when they failed to provide a satisfactory answer of papers of a scooty they were riding on.
During sustained interrogation, accused Sagar disclosed that he had stolen the scooty from an area in Rohini along with Amir Siddique.
The police officer said they indulged in the crimes of snatching to maintain a good lifestyle in society and to influence the people around them.
"Accused persons are budding snatchers who used to target costly android mobile phones and snatch them from the victim on a motorcycle or otherwise as the situation may be," said Sharma.
