Two cops rewarded for their brave work

New Delhi: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and the head constable were rewarded for their brave work by Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on Friday. According to police, head constable Narendra Kumar was granted 'out of turn promotion' to the next higher rank of ASI by Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. ASI Naresh Kumar has been awarded the Asadharan Karya Purushkaar.
"Head constable Narendra has maintained the track record of consistently doing good work with sheer professionalism and unwavering devotion to duty. Their previous record is equally commendable and has been continuously appreciated. They have set an example of the gallant deeds and dedication," said DCP (West) Vijay Kumar.
According to the police, Head Constable Narender Kumar despite having received two grievous injuries on his shoulder and forehead did not let the accused Mansoor escape and apprehended him with the help of ASI Naresh Kumar barehanded. ASI Naresh Kumar, despite being in the advanced age group of around 50 years, immediately responded to rescue severely Narender Kumar from armed assailant, snatched the knife from him and overpowered the accused with the help of Narender. In recognition of his sheer professionalism and devotion to service, both were rewarded by Commissioner of Police, Delhi.
