Two commit suicide by hanging themselves

In two separate cases of suicide in Noida, two persons killed themselves by hanging with the ceiling fan.

In the first incident, a woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her brother's apartment after Raksha Bandhan celebrations here.

The incident was reported from Mahagun Society in Sector 78, Noida.

According to the police, the woman has been identified as Ritu Verma, who came from Lucknow to celebrate the festival with her brother.

According to police, the condition of the body reflected that she hanged herself on Monday night.

The flat in which she committed suicide is located on the 17th floor of the building.

The brother of the deceased has claimed that she was normal before and after the celebrations and nothing like she will take such an extreme step was noticed from her behavior on Monday.

After the celebrations, she had gone to a room to sleep and today her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan, said her brother.

"We have recovered the body and have sent it for the post-mortem. We are investigating the matter and are waiting for the post mortem report."

"Prima facie, it appears to be a suicide," said Parshu Ram, station house officer, Sector 49 police station.

In another incident, a man committed suicide by hanging himself in his apartment located in Mini homes of Sector 117 Noida.

The deceased, identified as Rajat took the extreme step as he was said to be depressed over something, said police officials.

"The body has been sent for the post mortem. The family members of the deceased have been informed. The matter is being investigated by us," said a police official.
