Two civic workers sacked for graft in Ggn

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has removed two outsourced workers after it was found that they were preparing wrong report on the PG's in the city and falsely projected them as residential as the commercial properties.
The two persons who have been suspended have been identified as Anil and Preet Singh.
The firm action by Municipal Corporation of Gurugram comes weeks after 21 workers outsourced workers under enforcement wing of MCG were also removed after they were found to be corrupt.
It is estimated that there are over 300 illegal Paying Guest (PG) accomodation's that are presently operating in the city.
Most of the landowners are however able to operate as they are in cahoots with certain corrupt MCG officials.
Most of the PG's in an area of 150 to 200 square yards built floors that are more than five storeys.
Further, most of the landowners in lieu of greater profit are taking in more tenants than required.
Even though notices by the Department of Town and Planning (DTP) have been sent to these landowners in the past, there has been no concrete action that has been taken against them.
The death of 21-year-old Deepak Singh Bisht after being pushed from the balcony of the building where he was a paying guest has again raised the issue of illegal PG houses in the city.
High demand has resulted in most of the houses being converted into Paying Guest accodomation or guesthouses.
However, as these buildings are not registered legally, most of the buildings do not get basic facilities like water and power from the public agencies.
