Two carjackers held for stealing 100 cars

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police arrested a gang of carjackers involved in the theft of 100 cars in Delhi. Two members of the gang, Kunal and Shahid, have been arrested.

During the sustained interrogation, the accused Kunal stated that he has stolen more than 100 new cars.

He is an expert in stealing the Maruti brand car of Breeza & Swift & can steal the cars within 8-10 minutes after identifying their targets.

After stealing the car, he sold the car to his source in Rs. 50,000-60000 and steal the car on demand as per requirement by his source.

His receiver would give the order of car which is to be stolen with following details Breeza or Swift Car, Model, colour.

He identified the model of the car by seeing the code on windscreen & glasses of the car.

They had a toy pistol to scare away people in case they were caught.

"Four Breza cars have been recovered from the accused. While stealing the car, Kunal brought the equipment like a screw, ECM, rod, Magnate, mask, gloves."

"Before stealing the car, he wore the mask so that his face could not be captured in CCTV Footage and wore the gloves to break the car glass of left side of back window and entered car with his equipment in this process his associate helped him.

They replace the ECM of car and by using his equipment or kit, stole the car.

The recovered magnate is used to free the steering," said Meghna Yadav, DCP
