Trio planning double murder arrested

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested three robbers from Yamuna Vihar area, who reportedly were also planning to kill the witnesses in an unrelated murder case.
Police said the accused were identified as Bhim (30), Karan (21) and Ravi (22).
In light of the recent incidents of robbery and snatching in East Delhi, North East Delhi and Shahdra districts, a team of Crime Branch officers – led by ACP Rajesh Kumar – began regularly monitoring all robbery and snatching calls.
DCP (Crime) Dr G Ram Gopal Naik stated the accused were arrested on the basis of a tip-off that on November 15, the accused would come near DTC Bus Depot in Yamuna Vihar on three stolen motorcycles.
"On November 15, the accused had robbed two persons of their motorcycle, mobile phone, and Rs 5,000 at Zohripur flyover, Gokulpuri. During the robbery, one of their gang members Lokesh was caught by the public and the rest escaped on three motorcycles.
"They disclosed that they had planned to commit double murder of two witnesses in a murder case of Massouri, Ghaziabad. To execute this murder, they had taken supari from one person in Barolla village in neighbouring Ghaziabad," said the DCP.
