Trio of Ola drivers turned robbers held

NEW DELHI: After one of them was once robbed by highway robbers who had booked his Ola cab, a group of cabbies in Delhi themselves resorted to robbery to earn a quick buck.
Like the robbers that had earlier looted them, this gang too started booking Ola cabs, would then rob drivers of the booked cabs and flee.
However, investigators soon caught up to the gang and nabbed them on Tuesday.
In the last 15 days, PCR calls were made about thefts and snatching by thieves posing as customers who had booked Ola cabs.
Most such incidents had the thieves boarding the cabs from Shah Alam Bandh Road and committing the thefts near Seven Seas Hotel Main Road, in Adarsh Nagar.
Soon, police teams were formed and a trap was laid, which led to the arrest of Rahul Wadhwa (25), Jatin Oberoi (32) and Bhuvan Sakhuja (24) on Tuesday.
On interrogation, the arrested accused revealed that used to book cabs through the Ola app and then rob the cab driver.
A slip containing registration number of several vehicles was also seized from Sakhuja.
