Transgender shot dead in Ggn over monetary issue

Gurugram: A transgender person, identified as Kiran, was shot dead on Wednesday evening here near the Gurugram-Delhi Expressway's Kherki Daula toll plaza.

Police said that Kiran was shot dead by rivals Babal and Bhola. According to the law enforcement officials, a group of transgenders who used to collect money in the area had an altercation over sharing of the amount.

The incident further flared up when some vehicles in which they were travelling was stopped. What started out as a verbal duel soon turned into with a physical altercation, with the two opposing parties thrashing each other.

In the fit of rage, Babal and Bhola gunned down Kiran. Police have filed a case under relevant sections of the IPC and began an investigation.

"A gang of transgenders was fighting over the share of money which they had collected. The issue flared up, leading to the shooting. One of them shot thrice at Kiran, who was declared brought dead at a hospital," said a senior official from Gurugram police on Wednesday.
