Traffic snarls likely in Chattarpur due to satsang

NEW DELHI: Traffic would be disrupted around Chattarpur in Mehrauli and roads leading to the place because of the Radha Swami Satsang at Bhaati mines in Chattarpur in Delhi. The satsang would begin from Friday and would close on November 25. A large number of devotees from all across India and abroad including VIPs & high dignitaries are expected to visit the area to attend the Satsang at Satsang Complex.

Police said that the total public gathering is estimated to reach around 2-3 lakhs, out of which, approximately 20,000 sangat generally stays overnight at the Satsang Complex, while the remaining sangat commutes in the morning from different parts of Delhi and NCR from 5 am and leave by 6 pm for which elaborate traffic arrangements have been made by Traffic Police. Cops have advised to avoid ChattarPur Road (SSN Marg) during 4 am to 6:30 pm.

Movement of Commercial Goods Carrying Vehicles will also be diverted. Vehicles coming from Gwal Pahari Border on Mandi Road – Jona Pur Road for Bandh Road will be diverted to Mehrauli – Gurugram Road (NH – 236). Vehicles on Bhati Mines Road coming from Dera More will be diverted on to Bandh Road near Mallu Farm to further go onto NH-236. "General public and motorists are also advised by Delhi police to use public transport to avoid congestion on roads. General public and motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly keeping in view the congestion expected around Radha Soami Satsang Complex, Bhati Mines," said Alok Kumar Joint CP Traffic.

Other approaching roads like Aurobindo Marg, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Raod, Mehrauli-Gurugram Road and Anuvrat Marg would also be congested. Motorists are advised to follow the directions of the traffic policemen posted on roads to avoid inconvenience.
