Traffic snarls leave commuters stranded
New Delhi: Commuters had a tough time as traffic snarls were reported from several places including Mathura Road across the city. According to commuters, they struck in traffic snarls from more than 50 minutes. According to sources, snarls were reported from Mathura Road, Pragati Maidan, Chattarpur, Barapulla flyover, Khajuri Khas, Bhajan Pura, near Nangloi flyover, Seemapuri, Nathu colony chowk were few of the areas.
The commuters took to Twitter to share the grievances. One such Twiterrati tweeted, "Sir there is traffic snarls from Chattarpur metro to Chattarpur extension.". The Twiterrati gave focus on the traffic violation done by battery rickshaw, gramin sewa, auto rickshaw.
In reply, the Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) tweeted that "Sir, area traffic officer has been informed and you may also contact traffic inspector,". DTP also shared the phone number of traffic inspector. Snarls were also reported from Mathura road. A senior officer stated that there was heavy volume reported in the evening. Another Twiterrati asked the reason behind the traffic snarls in Pragati Metro station. The traffic police claimed road has caved in front of Pragati Maidan gate number 2 in Bhairon Marg due to which traffic is affected.
In an attempt to reduce traffic congestion, the Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) has started taking action against traffic violations in the areas of 15 market.
