Traffic police issue advisory on Full Dress rehearsal

NEW DELHI: On the occasion of full dress rehearsal of Independence Day celebration which will be held on August 13, same traffic restrictions will be followed as on August 15.

There would be elaborate traffic arrangements to facilitate the movement of dignitaries, invitees and general public to reach the place of function and also to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic in other parts of the city by Delhi traffic police.

The roads that will be closed for general traffic from 5 am to 9 am where only labeled vehicles will be permitted are Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail, Lothian road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail, SP Mukherjee marg from HC Sen marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk, Chandni chowk road from Fountain chowk to Red Fort, and Nishad Raj marg from Ring road to Netaji Subhash marg.

The traffic police has also advised people to avoid the roads Tilak marg, Mathura road, BSZ marg, Subhash marg, JL Nehru marg and Ring road between Nizammuddin bridge and ISBT bridge and take the route as advised.

"Metro services at Red Fort and Jama Masjid of Violet line will not be allowed after 6:30 am during rehearsal," said Joint CP Traffic Garima Bhatnagar.
