Traffic curtailed in view of Dussehra, Muharram

New Delhi: Red Fort (Lal Quila), Delhi will be closed for tourists and visitors on Saturday, on account of the visits by VVIPs to the Dussehra celebration outside the Red Fort.
Light and sound show inside the Red Fort will also not be held. The major places in the capital where Dussehra would be celebrated are Kotwali, Kamla market, DBG road, RK Puram, Sarojini Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Jaitpur, Badarpur, Sunlight Colony, Kalkaji, Govidpuri , Sangam Vihar, Pul Prahladpur, Dwarka, Punjabi bagh, Anand Vihar, keshavpuram and Mukehrjee Nagar. There shall be restrictions on movement of traffic on Netaji Subhash Marg, Nishad Raj Marg (New Darya Ganj Road), Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg and Turkman Gate depending on the crowd situation, after 5 pm on Saturday.
On account of Muharram to be observed on October 1 for the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Mohammad in the battle of Karbala, Iraq, various processions would take place in the capital. Due to tazia processions from Shia Jama Masjid Kashmere gate, traffic would be affected till 4 pm on Chota Bazaar, Bada Baazar and Panja Shareef.
Anjuman Taaziadaran organization (The confederation of all Taaziadaran) will take out Tazia processions during the intervening night from September 30 to October 1 from 9 PM onwards. These Tazias will start from Chhatta Shahzad, Kalan Mahal and pass through Pahari Bhojla-Chitli Qabar-Matia Mahal Chowk-Jama Masjid -Chawri Bazar –Chowk Hauz Qazi - Ajmeri Gate –Pahar Ganj Bridge - New Delhi Railway Station - Chelmsford Road – Connaught Place – outer circle (wrong carriage way) - Parliament Street - Red Cross Road - New Delhi Jama Masjid -R/A Krishi Bhawan (wrong carriage way) - Raisina Road - Vijay Chowk- Krishna Menon Marg-Tughlak Road –Aurobindo Marg-Jor Bagh and will reach Karbala.
