Tiwari seeks compensation for victims of Ghitorni mishap

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari on Monday demanded that the Kejriwal government provide adequate compensation to the deceased in the case where four men died of asphyxiation when they entered a rain harvesting tank to clean it.
Tiwari also pointed out that Delhi Jal Board should take over the responsibility of cleaning septic tanks so that fatal accidents do not happen in the future.
He added that such work could have been done by machines and the lives of the innocent labourers were unnecessarily putted in danger. Tiwari also alleged that "gross negligence resulted in the death of breadwinners of many families."
Tiwari expressed his sympathy with the family members of the four labourers, saying "I am personally hurt due to this unfortunate incident and loss to the family of the deceased."
