Times of India Building catches fire for the second time within months

A massive fire broke out at Times of India building on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg at 4.30 pm on Sunday. "The fire started in the server room which is located on the first floor owing to a short circuit," said sources.

Following the breakout, all the windows including the newly renovated ones on the third floor were forcefully broken to vent out the smoke.

"All the employees have been transferred to their Noida office for the time being. Several of them who had to leave their belongings in the office are trying to connect with Mumbai server office because the incident took place in the Delhi-based server room itself," said Md. Affanul Haque, an employee of Times of India.

"No causalities have been reported," he added

The Chief Fire Officer for the west Delhi zone, Vipin Kental, was unavailable for comment.

Within a short span of nine months, this is the second time such incident occurred in the same building.
