New Delhi: With the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government completing three years in power in the national Capital this month, the party began its much-anticipated 'Vikas Yatra' (development journey) to highlight the 'good work' done by the city government on Sunday.
The party claims that the government has done many goods works for the people of the city during this past three years.
The leaders of the ruling party also highlighted their achievements for respective constituencies.
State convener and Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai led the development tour in his constituency – Barabpur - on Sunday.
The journey started from Babarpur bus terminal and passed through different locations of the constituency. During his yatra, he apprised the public about the works done by the government of Delhi.
In addition, he also spoke about the work he did as a legislator for his assembly constituency.
Rai said the AAP government has not only provided round-the-clock electricity but has also dramatically reduced electricity charges, wherein the rates for low consumption of below 400 units were slashed by half.
By providing free water for those whose consumption is less than 20,000 litres the government has not only made water free for the poor, but also reduced water consumption, he said.
"The work done on education and health is being lauded universally," he said and added if a person goes to government hospital for treatment and if he does not get the date of treatment or operation due to excessive engagement, then he can get his treatment in private hospital, whose entire expenditure will be borne by government.
The government is fully committed to providing better health services to every citizen.
In the same way, all the MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party, all the ministers in the government, all former MLAs and office bearers have communicated to the public about the work done by the Delhi government in the last three years and the work done in separate assembly.
He stated that in the second phase, the party functionaries, especially 'booth in-charges' will meet the people of their areas and share information about the work done by the Delhi government.
The public can give any suggestion to their government if they want to, then it can also be brought to the government.
