Three try to snatch bag from woman

New Delhi: Three unknown bike-borne assailants tried to snatch a bag from a woman in West Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area on Friday. The woman, while saving herself and bag, was injured during the incident. Police have formed multiple teams to identify and nab the accused.

She was waiting for an auto-rickshaw when criminals came on the bike and tried to snatch her purse near Madipur metro station.

The woman said that she came at 4:30 in the morning to visit the temple, first three men on bike crossed her and then they came back and tried to snatch her bag and dragged her. They stopped when they saw a man coming from the other side.

The woman's injury was visible in her hands. Later Delhi Police was informed about the incident and they reached the spot and met the victim. The woman informed police about the sequence of events happened with her.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sameer Sharma said that they have registered an FIR in this regard and investigation is going on in the case. "Three teams have been deployed to identify the accused," said Additional DCP.

Earlier on Thursday, two bike-borne criminals snatched a cellphone from a woman journalist in South-East Delhi's Okhla area. Police said that efforts are being made to nab the accused persons.
