Three sharpshooters held with imported arms

NEW DELHI: Three sharpshooters of Shakti Naidu Gang were arrested by Delhi Police from Vasant Gaon area in South Delhi with a large haul of arms and ammunition which include four imported pistols.
According to police, the accused were identified as Ajay Nagarwal (26), Shiv Raj (38) and Singha Ram (48).
A police team of AATS, South District profiled active gangs functioning in South Delhi and adjoining areas.
The police team of AATS/South District developed intelligence about gangs procuring illegal firearms from other states to commit crimes in Delhi NCR.
The information was further developed which revealed that the members of Shakti Naidu's gang often used the firearms while committing the crime and also used to lure the budding criminals by peddling firearms to them.
The accused were arrested on Tuesday
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Chinmoy Biswal stated that during the cursory search, imported pistols with live cartridges was recovered from the possession of all the accused.
Biswal further added that accused Shakti Naidu had a gang of robbers, dacoits and contract killers in the area of Ambedkar Nagar. Earlier, he was running a garments shop in Ambedkar Nagar.
During the professional interaction, he came to know about huge unaccounted money transactions taken place covertly in Delhi and NCR.
He assimilated his associates and divulged his plan to commit heist on Hawala money.
