Three robbers pose as CBI officials arrested

Three people have been arrested by Delhi Police on Sunday for allegedly posing as CBI officials and committing dacoity in a jeweller's house on the pretext of conducting a raid.
The accused who were arrested on Sunday had connections with gangs affiliated to jailed gangster Neeraj Bawania .
The arrested accused told police that they decided to rob the jeweller after watching a Bollywood movie which deals with con men posing as CBI officials.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Narender Vesnav (30), Madan (28) and Neeraj (38).
They were arrested from Shahbad Dairy after the Crime Branch had received inputs about their whereabouts.
"They were arrested from St Xavier School. The trio tried to flee on their motorbikes after they managed to identify our team. We recovered a country made pistol and a Delhi Police uniform from the accused," said a police official.
The police are still trying to ascertain the whereabouts of six other associates who were roped in for the dacoity case.
The three accused had in their interrogation confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The police have claimed that the three men had on July 26 decided to target a prominent jeweller's house in Karol Bagh.
The gang had initially made a recce around the jeweller's house before committing the crime.
On the day of the incident, they were armed with two country made weapons and entered his house.
"Narender posed as a Delhi Police official and entered the house claiming that he was under orders from CBI to conduct a raid," the official said.
Before the occupants of the house could make any sense of what was happening, the accused entered the house and stole some jewellery items.
The Crime Branch is now on the look out for the six other accused in the case.
