Three persons arrested in two separate murders
NEW DELHI: Rohini District police has arrested the culprit in the murder of a law student in north Delhi's Burari area, while Outer Delhi Police has apprehended two men for kidnapping and murdering a trader found dead in Ghaziabad
Police said that in the Burari murder, which took place on November 10, the accused was identified as 23-year-old Gaurav Chaudhary, a resident of the same area.
On Tuesday, a police team received a tip-off regarding the movement of Chaudhary On spotting him, the team swung into action and apprehended Chaudhary, who was riding a bike without number plate.
The bike was reporteldy used in committing the crime and was seized from his possession. During interrogation, police found out it was a case of road rage.
Addressing reporters on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishipal said that the 24-year-old law student was shot dead by the motorcycle-borne Chaudhary, when the victim was out for a stroll at night in Hardev Nagar.
The victim, Ashish Bhardwaj, was with his two friends when Chaudhary on his bike stopped them and asked them what they were doing in the area late at night.
In the second case, police on Wednesday said that they arrested two men, identified as Himanshu and Kunal, for the kidnapping-cum-murder of Sanjiv Saxena.
During investigation, the phone number of another suspect Sheelu was identified, whose last location came as Ghaziabad.
Soon, it came to light that there were five persons involved, namely Himanshu, Rahul, Sheelu, Bijender and Aakash.
Raids were conducted and Himanshu and Kunal were nabbed. The remaining accused are still at large.
