Three men burnt alive as car CNG kit explodes in Ggn

Gurugram: It was a tragic end to the lives of three people as they were charred to death after the CNG kit of the car they were travelling exploded all of a sudden on Thursday night in Gurugram.
According to the eyewitnesses, the incident was so severe that their bodies were beyond recognition as they were fully burnt.
The dreadful incident occurred at Ullawas village near Sector-60 at around 11:30 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Gajender, Devender and Narender. While Gajender and Devender were both 38 years old, Narender was 28. All three were resident of village Palra.
The case has been registered in Badshahpur police station and the bodies have been sent to the government hospital for post mortem.
Sources in the police said that though initial reports of investigation highlighted that even though the accident was caused due to the explosion of the CNG kit, the other angle of sabotage is also being explored.
Meanwhile, recounting the horror, some of the eyewitnesses who witnessed the deadly mishap said that it occurred so quickly, they could not save the three victims.
"I was returning from my duty at 11:30 pm when I witnessed a car being converted into a blaze of fire. Though the fire brigade vehicle and ambulances arrived after some time, it was too late," said Ramesh Pandey, one of the eyewitnesses.
Highlighting how painful the scene was, Pandey added, "I was able to witness one of the bodies being taken away and I could see that the lower part of the body of the body was completely burnt and only some part of the face could be recognised."
The tragic situation again highlighted the perils of driving in old vehicles with the CNG kit.
The victims were travelling in a 15-year-old Maruti Esteem car, even though travelling in old vehicles in the National Capital Region have been banned by Supreme Court.
Recently, a Haryana Roadways air-conditioned bus running on CNG also caught fire. However, it was a lucky escape for the passengers who were able to get out of the burning bus.
