Three killed in separate road accidents in North-West Delhi

NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old boy died while his 17-year-old friend was injured after the bullet motorcycle, they were riding, lost balance when they had gone for a joyride to an under construction flyover in North-West Delhi's Mukundpur area on Tuesday.
Police claimed that the under construction flyover, that is under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department of the Delhi government, had not put any signage indicating that it was out of bounds for the public. The PWD, on the other hand, alleged that the boys were indulging in stunt biking on the flyover, an allegation denied by the police.
"Police are probing the matter and might also charge the owner of the motorcycle for allowing minors to drive it. Around 7 am on Tuesday, Karan Dutt alias Kannu, a seventh standard student, went to the resident of his friend Akash on his bullet motorcycle", the police said.
The duo was friends and both lived nearby in Mukundpur area of North-West Delhi. They went for a joyride to an under-construction flyover in Mukundpur. Since they were driving at a high speed, their motorcycle lost balance and both of them fell from the flyover. The duo was rushed to a hospital where Dutt was declared brought dead where Akash suffered multiple injuries and is undergoing treatment.
Aslam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest), said that till now they have not found any evidence of stunt biking. However, she said that there was no signage or PWD's guard symbol on the spot. "The flyover has not been thrown open for the public. The duo entered the flyover through the exit route. The construction labourers at work there said that the boys were doing stunts on bikes," said a top PWD official.
According to deceased family members, they did not realize when Karan took the motorcycle keys and left with the two-wheeler. It was the first time he had gone for joy ride no one has seen that how the incident took place.
In another incident, two boys died after their motorcycle hit by a tempo in North West Delhi's Bhalaswa Dairy area on Tuesday evening as both of them were not wearing the helmet.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Vishesh (19) and Karan (19) both were the residents of Mukand Pur area in North West Delhi. They were driving the motorcycle at high speed.
DCP Aslam Khan stated that they were riding a motorcycle without the helmet and soon they lost the control on the bike. "They hit a rickshaw carrying goods from the backside and fell down on road and at the same time hit by a tempo. They were taken to BJRM hospital when the injured Vishesh was declared dead and other was referred to LNJP Hospital and after treatment, Karan was also declared dead," said the DCP.
