Three highway robbers targeting women arrested

Delhi Police have arrested three highway robbers on August 4 for their involvement in a string of highway robberies and targeting women travelling in the area.
According to police, the accused were said to have targeted several women. The arrested accused have been identified as Rahul Kumar, Imran and Zahid.
Further, the police have recovered one improvised English pistol, two country-made pistols, six live cartridges, 18 snatched mobile phones and one Apache Motor cycle.
The police had received information about their whereabouts after which a team was constituted to look into the case. They were later arrested from Jaffrabad area and upon their interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in a string of robberies. "During the course of interrogation, they disclosed that they started committing snatching since 2012 and had been arrested several times. They usually commit snatching near highway areas like Ring roads of Delhi, Pushta Road, NH-24 and would target women traveling in TSR's or wait near bus stands," said a police official.
The police have claimed that the accused have sold more than 500 stolen mobile phones.
The receiver of the stolen property is now being tracked by the police.
