Three held in Wazirabad for killing friend, dumping his body in canal

NEW DELHI: After killing their friend Brijesh Kumar for reportedly not allowing them to smoke in his house in front of his father, the three accused tried to mislead police in the investigation.
However, several days after Brijesh went missing, the role of Bhola, Vijay and Arun in their friend's murder and disappearance came to light, and Brijesh's body was found in a canal.
Brijesh's family had reported to police that he had gone missing on October 11. The three accused, who feigned sympathy with Brijesh's family and tried to help them.
"They also came to the police station to give their statement on their missing friend, so that no one can doubt their involvement," said a police source.
The family had stated that Brijesh did not have personal enmity with anyone, but also informed the police about a minor fight that took place between him and his friends for not allowing them to smoke on October 11.
Police nabbed them in Wazirabad area, and during questioning, the three gave conflicting statements which raised suspicion.
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to their crime.
On October 11, Bhola had an argument with Brijesh over the smoking inside his house. Later on, the argument turned violent and Kumar slapped Bhola. Insulted, Bhola planned to eliminate him and later shot Brijesh dead.
Along with his friends, Bhola then threw Brijesh's body in the canal and feigned ignorance with his family about Brijesh's disappearance.
