Three held for robbing one by choking
New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested three robbers including two pimps of GB Road area for their involvement in the robbery case. The investigating agency said that the accused choked the victim and then robbed him. Police identified the accused as Vakeel (32), Parvesh (26) and Mithlesh (22).
Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, Madhur Verma said that on the intervening night of June 15-16 at about 9:30 PM, ASI Rajbir patrolling on foot near gate number six of Lady Harding Medical College noticed a boy crying for help who approached the ASI and informed that three persons in an autorickshaw robbed him of his mobile phone and fled away towards Nehru Chowk.
ASI Rajbir immediately responded and took the complainant in another auto-rickshaw to chase the robbers.
After a brief chase, the auto-rickshaw identified by the complainant was intercepted at red light near Nehru Chowk. The robber at the driving seat of the auto rickshaw identified as Vakeel was apprehended whereas the other two managed to escape along with the robbed mobile phone and their identity was revealed as Parvesh and Ganjedi. Later they were nabbed by the police.
Complainant Mohsin stated that he was going to visit his ailing relative at Kalawati hospital and when he was on Panchkuian Road, two persons got down from an auto rickshaw near him and one of them choked him from behind with the elbow and another person put a cloth in his mouth and forcibly robbed his mobile.
Parvesh and Mithlesh are pimps at GB Road.
