Three held for Bindapur group clash murder

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested three people in connection with the murder of a 30-year-old man in Bindapur in Dwarka district. Police said that the two groups clashed on New Year (January 1) which resulted in the killing of one. Several others were injured. The criminals identified as Pramod, age-20 years, Vishal Kumar, age-23 years and Sarvar Ali age 25-years, have been arrested from their hideouts at different places in Delhi.

On January 1, Vishal and Akash were drinking when one of them accused the other of stealing his motorcycle keys which led to a scuffle between them. Residents intervened and the quarrel was about to subside when both the inebriated men were joined in by their friends which escalated the quarrel. Some of the men came armed with knives and rods.

At the instigation of Sarvar Ali , Vishal took out a knife and began waving it violently on rivals resulting in severe stab wounds to a couple of members of the rival group and passers-by the one, Sumit (30), who was also involved in the fight, used the helmet to defend himself and attack rivals. He was stabbed multiple times by Vishal and his associates due to which he began to bleed profusely. Meanwhile, someone called the police and the accused fled from the spot. CCTV footages verified a few suspects. Police mounted technical surveillance to track their movements.

Accused Pramod was nabbed by the police on January 2. He was produced in the court on January 3 and his Police Custody Remand was obtained. During his remand, the main accused Vishal Kumar and Sarvar Ali were nabbed from different places in Delhi.
