Three girls rescued from gang of traffickers, 4 held

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Saturday said they have arrested four members of a trafficking gang, including a woman, and rescued a three girls kidnapped by them.
The accused were identified as 32-year-old Neeraj, Bablu, Anuj and his wife, police said.
The kidnapping of one of the girls was reported from Geeta Colony.
On February 18, police received a tip-off about the wherabouts of the girl and she was rescued from Dadri in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
The girl was then produced before the child welfare committee and her statement recorded. It came to light that she was sold for Rs four lakh to one Neeraj for marriage.
An FIR under sections 366A, 370, 376, 34 of the IPC and section 4 of the POCSO Act was registered.
Two other minor girls were rescued from Anuj's house.
The modus operandi of the accused involved one person searching for innocent girls at railway stations and bus terminals of Delhi-NCR.
After kidnapping them, the girls would be taken to Anuj's house and later sold to prospective buyers.
"During interrogation, it came to notice that there are four more such victims. In this regard, a team has been constituted to rescue them and to arrest the remaining accused, which is under progress." said Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara).
