Three charred to death in Shahdara vehicle collision

New Delhi: Horrific tragedy reported from the Shahdara district on Wednesday evening after three persons charred to death in vehicle collision. Police claimed that after the collision, both vehicles caught fire. The investigating agency is still connecting the sequence of the event of the incident.

Police claimed that the incident took place near Anand Vihar flyover. "Two cars including Omni and Eco-Sport are involved in the incident," the investigating agency claimed. They further added that the vehicles were completely burnt.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav claimed that they received the information about the incident around 6-6.15 pm after which the police team rushed to the spot.

Meanwhile, the fire department of Delhi also send two fire tenders at the spot. "The incident took place in the road connecting Dilshad garden and Anand Vihar flyover," said officials from Delhi Fire Services (DFS).

Talking about the incident, a police officer claimed that the persons who were at the spot told them about the collision and fire. "The reason behind the incident is being investigated," added the officer.

DCP Yadav stated that the Eco-Sport hit the Omni by jumping from the opposite direction of the carriageway. Soon after the collision, the fire took place and gutted the vehicles giving no time to escape.

"No idea from which place they were coming. Two persons are still receiving treatment and one is very critical," said DCP Meghna Yadav.

Later after investigation, the identity of the deceased was revealed as Shamshad (28), resident of Mustafabad and Abdul. Both of them were inside the Omni car whereas the third person Garve Sehgal (30), the resident of Krishna Nagar, was in Eco Sports car. "The injured were identified as Imran (28) resident of Mustafabad whereas Akshay Jain who was inside another vehicle is reported to be critically injured," added DCP Shahdara. For the commuters they only heard the sound of collision and when they reached the spot fire took place.
