This autolifters' gang splurged on fancy clothes, liquor parties

New Delhi: A gang of auto-lifters cum snatchers were busted with the arrest of four persons including gang leader from Uttam Nagar area of Dwarka district on December 7.

Police claimed that the quartet of criminals is fond of stylish clothes and liquor parties. Police identified the accused as Pramod (27), Mukesh Verma (24), Rahul (20) and Kamal (20).

"Rahul and Kamal were roped in by two accused into the gang enticing them with good money and lifestyle," police said.

The proceeds earned through snatchings which were later distributed among the four.

The gang led a luxurious life, splurging on liquor and branded clothes to impress their friends. The gang has done a series of motorcycle thefts and snatchings.

DCP (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said that the accused persons have disclosed their involvements in about one dozen cases of auto thefts and snatchings.

Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest the co-accused persons and to affect more recovery and ascertain their involvements in other cases also.
