Technical snags hold up metro services on various lines
New Delhi: Metro services were affected multiple times on sections of different corridors of the Delhi Metro since Wednesday morning, leaving hundred of passengers stranded at the stations. "Delay occurred due to the technical problems, but normal services have now been resumed," said DMRC official. There was slow movement of trains between Tis Hazari and Shastri Park and later also on Pitampura-Keshav Puram section of the Red Line. On the Blue Line, delay in service took place between Dwarka and Kirti Nagar following a technical snag on the section.
Commuters traveling from Yamuna Bank to Vaishali also faced problems as presence of a man on track at Kaushambi briefly disrupted the service on Wednesday morning. " The passengers was rescued safely and the services were resumed immediately," said DMRC official. He also added that rest of the section was running completely normal. On Green line, there was a delay in service from Ghevra to Inderlok and Kirti Nagar stations while the stretch between Ashok Park Main and Kirti Nagar developed another technical snag this morning. However, the normalcy was restored within a few minutes, DMRC tweeted.
On Red line, the services between Shaheed Sthal and Rithala section also faced delays, and normal services were later resumed, DMRC tweeted. Minor delay was also reported in services between Inderlok and Brigadier Hoshiar Singh stretch of Green Line and later on Blue Line's Dwarka Sector 21 and Noida Electronic City section. However, operations have been resumed now in both the sections. "Disruption of metro services have become a regular affair," said Manoj Kumar, a daily commuters. He added that the train were runinng on snail pace and it was distressing moments as he was getting late for the office.
