Technical glitch hits Blue Line commuters

NEW DELHI: Commuters had a tough time on Wednesday, as train movement on Delhi Metro's Blue Line came to a screeching halt during rush hour due to a technical glitch.
The problem occurred in Dwarka area of the line, due to which services on the entire line were affected for more than an hour.
A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson said, "Services were briefly affected from 6pm to 7pm between Janakpuri West to Dwarka section of Line-3 to undertake immediate repair of an Over Head Equipment wire, which broke after a bird dropped a metallic wire on it, resulting in it snapping."
He added that the incident occurred between Dwarka and Dwarka Mor section on Up line (going from Noida to Dwarka Sector-21).
The busy Blue Line connects Noida and Vaishali to Dwarka. Commuters travelling between 5 and 7 pm complained that the trains, which take two minutes between each station, took up to 15 minutes.
