Taxi driver, associate arrested for raping woman
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested a taxi driver and his acquaintance for allegedly raping a woman in Greater Noida's Pari Chowk area, after they picked her up from Hauz Khas in south Delhi.
In her complaint, the woman, a resident outer Delhi's Rohini, told police that she wanted to visit a temple in Uttar Pradesh.
For this, she left home on the evening of November 16 to catch a bus from Sarai Kale Khan.
She reportedly missed her bus at Sarai Kale Khan and decided to return home.
After reaching Hauz Khas by auto, she found a taxi at the spot and hauled it to go to her home.
During the ride, the taxi driver Gaurav and his associate Praveen, forced themselves upon the woman, took her to a deserted area in Pari Chowk, and gang-raped behind some bushes.
The duo then abandoned her on the roadside and fled.
A few hours later, the victim managed to regain her senses and filed a police complaint.
