Taxi driver arrested for raping woman near railway station

NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old girl alleged that she was raped by a man on Monday in North Delhi area.
Delhi Police on Wednesday said that they have arrested the accused in the case.
According to police sources, the girl claimed that around 11 pm on Monday, she had arrived at a railway station in Delhi from Noida. She then purchased a general ticket for a train going to Ludhiana, which was scheduled to leave at 4.30 am on Tuesday.
She then went to the waiting room, where taxi driver sat beside her.
DCP (North) told reporters that the man then told her that the train had been cancelled and it would be impossible to get another train at that time.
He then offered to drop her at a bus stand near his taxi stand.
"The driver befooled her that he would drop her at bus stand by his taxi," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Jatin Narwal.
The driver brought his black taxi in front of the station and took the girl inside his taxi. He then took her away to secluded place, where he parked the taxi and raped her inside it.
He then dropped after at another railway station and tried to run away, but was immediately nabbed by police personnel.
