'Swachhta Award' for Safai Sevaks: NDMC

New Delhi: In order to maintain the highest standard of sanitation and cleanliness in the New Delhi area, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) had instituted a 'Swachhta Award' for honoring the best performing Safai Sevaks and Drivers for every month with the shields and certificates.

Secretary, NDMC, Rashmi Singh had given away the Swachhta Award for the month of October, November and December to 42 Safai Sevaks, four Beldars, six School Children and 12 Drivers at a simple and well attended function at Convention Centre of NDMC headquarter at New Delhi on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion the Secretary NDMC said that the safai karmacharis of NDMC are the role model of the Council and have had been playing the role of Swachhta Doots in the society for transforming the New Delhi area into a hygienic, livable and healthy environment by motivating their family members, nearest and dearest, with the aim to make the Swachha Mission a Mass Movement.
