Survey launched to analyse new age cyber security risks

NEW DELHI: A regulatory mechanism is needed be where information is easily available to investigation agencies as many internet companies do not have offices in India, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Madhur Verma said at a seminar organised by FICCI here on Thursday.

As part of its risk management initiative, FICCI – in partnership with security management firm Pinkerton – held a seminar on New Age Risks, 2018, at its auditorium here.

FICCI and Pinkerton will also undertake the first-ever India Risk Survey 2018, with Verma launching the survey at the programme.

The objective of the report will be to inform and sensitise all stakeholders about the new emerging cyber security risks for developing economies, such as India, so that a well-planned and strategic policy decisions could be drafted and implemented for their mitigation.

"Threats from regional and social imbalances that give rise to insurgencies are the operating risks that businesses need to factor in," said Rahul Chaudhary, chairman, FICCI homeland security committee at the seminar.
