Speeding dumper mows down two labourers

Greater Noida: Two middle aged labourers were crushed to death in Bambawad village of Greater Noida on Monday morning after a speeding dumper, which was deployed at the construction site of Eastern Peripheral Expressway, rammed into their motorcycle.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Soyan, a resident of Chithera village and Sandeep as resident of Dadupur village of Greater Noida.
"These two victims were appointed as labourers on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. While going to pursue their duty on Monday morning, the speeding dumper rammed into their motorcycle and both the persons died on the spot," said Ajay Kumar Sharma, station house officer, Bisrakh police station.
Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver who managed to flee from the spot.
As the information spread, the locals staged an agitation at the spot and blocked the road demanding compensation against the death of these workers. They also vandalized the vehicles and the dumper which was involved in the incident. The protestors also opposed to take away the bodies from spot till their demands are met.
Later when senior police officials reached the spot, the agitated locals were pacified after giving an assurance to undertake strict actions against those responsible for the death of both the workers.
