Speeding bus crushes biker to death in central Delhi

NEW DELHI: A man on a motorcycle was crushed to death by a speeding bus in central Delhi's Daryaganj area on Friday.
Police said the accident took place around 11 am, when the victim came under the wheels of a low floor bus in front of a Canara Bank branch.
The man died at the spot, even before he could be taken to the hospital, with his head reportedly being crushed by the wheels of the bus.
The bus was stopped nearby and the driver immediately taken into custody.
As the area where the incident occurred is a busy road, the traffic police and local police had a tough time controlling traffic, which was disrupted for around an hour.
Police said they have identified the victim. "We have arrested the driver bus and a case under sections 279 and 304A of IPC has been registered at Daryaganj police station," said a police officer.
