Snatching bid: Man stabbed to death in Defence Colony
New Delhi: In a suspected snatching bid, a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in South Delhi's Defence Colony area on Sunday.
Police claimed accused to try to snatch the mobile from him when deceased objected he was stabbed. The investigating agency nabbed two accused in the case.
According to police, during the intervening night of 13-14 July, a PCR call of the accident was received at police station Defence Colony. Investigating Officer visited the place of occurrence where he got to know that injured was taken to AIIMS Trauma centre by a passerby van driver.
On reaching there it was found that one Shyam Bodh Sah resident of Jamrudpur in Greater Kailash was declared brought dead by the doctor.
Police further said that the deceased was having a stab wound in the left side of the chest. Accordingly, a case under section 302 IPC was registered and the search for accused persons was taken up. During the investigation scene of the crime was inspected by the district crime team and exhibits were lifted.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar said that teams were constituted to solve the case. During search one of the teams along with high way patrol bikes apprehended two boys, one boy from Bhola Nagar Kotla Mubarakpur and Rahul who lives in servant quarter in Hudco Place and the knife used in the crime has been recovered from their possession. Blood stains of deceased have been found on the clothes of the accused persons.
"Prima facie it seems that they try to snatch the mobile from him. The deceased might have resisted and then one of the accused stabbed him," DCP Kumar said.
The investigation further revealed that the victim works in a restaurant and was going to his home on cycle. He is native of Bihar. Further Investigation is continued.
