'Smart classes being introduced in NDMC and Navyug schools'

New Delhi: The Smart Classes are being introduced in primary sections of NDMC and Navyug Schools from the forthcoming academic session. A decision to this effect had been taken on the basis of the 8,573 feedback received from the students, administrators and parents in respect of introducing of Smart Classes in Primary wing of its schools.

This has been informed by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Secretary, Rashmi Singh while speaking after inaugurating the 3-Day NDMC school Science Fair on the theme of "Scientific Solutions for Challenges in Life" at NP Co-ed Senior Secondary School (Primary wing), Lodhi Road in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Over 500 students from the 50 NDMC, Navyug, Aided Schools, Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Delhi Government of NDMC area had been participating in the exhibition.

As many as 200 exhibit models have been displayed in four streams like Science, work experience, mathematical and nursery exhibition.

She said that the Science fair provides an opportunity to Students and teachers to streamline the scientific thoughts into the creative scientific models and exhibits in which, they can display their innovative imagination to promote the scientific temperament.

With the aim to nurture an innovative mind, one Atal Tinkering Lab and two Palika Tinkering Labs had been commissioned first time in NDMC and Navyug Schools for promoting scientific temperament of the students.

Singh informed that NDMC had introduced tablet based Wi-Fi enabled classrooms as a pilot project, and it had decided to implement in 27 secondary and senior

secondary schools during this year.

And added that fiber based digital connectivity in all school, digital libraries, upgradation of laboratories, auditoriums, joyful libraries, swimming pool, language lab and other new innovative technology would be introduced in the education system of civic body schools.
