Shopkeeper arrested for selling E-cigarette to kid
New Delhi: In order to save her son from getting addicted to intoxication, a mother had filed a complaint with Delhi Police against a pan seller who was selling e-cigarette to her child.
Acting on the complaint, the city police after proper investigation nabbed the shopkeeper from East Delhi's Ghazipur area.
Police identified the accused as Champalal resident of Rajbeer colony. The investigating agency said on Friday a lady came to Ghazipur police station and gave a complaint.
"In her complaint, she alleged that she has two children aged 12 years and 10 years who are studying in school," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Jasmeet Singh.
He further stated that yesterday she noticed that her Rs 1000 were taken by her son. When she asked him about this, he didn't give a proper reply.
Getting suspicious she checked his bag and found two suspicious electronic gadgets used in e cigarette.
The child told his mother that he bought it from Champalal uncle who runs a stationery shop in Rajbir colony and he used this machine for smoking. Her son told that Champalal taught them how to use that gadget and took Rs 380 for each.
"We have registered a case u/s 77JJ Act and arrested the accused. Accused Champalal has been arrested for selling E-cigarettes to children," added DCP Singh.
