SHO, six other cops of Gzb police station suspended

Ghaziabad: Seven cops including the Station House officer of Link Road police station in Ghaziabad, a sub-inspector and five other constables have been suspended by police after they were found to have been involved in a case where they submitted less than half of the money recovered from criminals, thus, doing a fraud worth Rs 70 lakh rupees.

According to police, the suspended police officials have been identified as SHO Link Road Laxmi Singh Chauhan, Chowki incharge of Maharajpur police station SI Naveen Kumar Pachauri and five constables Bachchu singh, Faraz, Dheeraj Bharadwaj, Saurabh Kumar and Sachin Kumar.

The incident came to light in April, when a few employees with CMS info system limited at site-IV industrial area in Sahibabad, left the logistics company along with two gunman and cash worth crores which was supposed to be loaded in 20 ATM machines. However, when company officials checked with the ATM machines, it was found that cash more than One crore rupees was found to be missing.

The company lodged a complaint against these employees where the main accused in case Rajeev Sachan, who worked as cash custodian with the company went absconding after the incident. SHO Laxmi singh was investigating the case and have arrested Rajeev Sachan and another accused in the case, Aamir on Tuesday night.

Sudhir Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ghaziabad said that the arrested accused told police that these police officials have recovered more money from them against what they have shown.

"Following the arrest, police showed that they have recovered 45 lakhs and 81 thousand rupees from both the accused but when Circle officer Sahibabad Interrogated them, they told him that police have recovered around 55 lakhs from Rajeev Sachan while Rs 60-70 lakhs was recovered from accused Aamir. It was a difference of more than Rs 70 lakhs of what these police officials showed against what was actually recovered by them. Seven police officials have been suspended in connection with the matter while an investigation is underway and appropriate actions will be taken against them," said Singh.
