Shaheen Bagh shooter gets 'grand welcome' in videos

New Delhi: Videos of Kapil Baisala, who fired shots in the air near the Shaheen Bagh protest site, are going viral on social media where people claim that after getting bail in the case he received grand welcome despite his shooting incident. The court granted bail to Baisala on Friday after hearing arguments from the lawyers appearing for him as well as police.

"On considering the totality of facts and circumstances, the accused Kapil Baisala is admitted to bail on furnishing bail bond in a sum of Rs 25,000 with one surety in the like amount," Additional Sessions Judge Gulshan Kumar said. Baisala's counsel submitted to the court that his client has deep roots in society and there was no possibility of his absconding from the law. The application added that Baisala had clean antecedents and he had never been involved in any other case in past.

After getting bail, his videos started going viral on social media. In a video, Kapil is seen getting out of a white-coloured car. It appears that the receptionist is a friend of Kapil. In the second video, Kapil is seen hugging his friends.
