Seven men arrested for killing five in Bihar

NEW DELHI: Seven persons were arrested for murdering five others in their hometown in Banka district of Bihar who came to Delhi as a safe haven, disguising themselves as rikshaw pullers and daily labourers.
Wanted by Bihar Police for five murders in 2016, these men were on the run and shifted to Delhi where they bought and rented Rikshaws and were working as rikshawpullers for several months. Some of them also worked as daily wagers.
The murders were done in Amarpur in Banka district and by these arrests, these five cases of murder in Bihar have been worked out.
"These accused after commission of heinous crimes including murder, robbery and rioting came to Delhi and started working as casual labourers like driver and rickshaw puller. They were avoiding their arrest and deliberately escaping the law of the land. Since their rivalry was going on from last many years, they were taking revenge by murdering their rival in Banka district," said DCP North Jatin Narwal.
During the interrogation, all the accused revealed that it all started with the dispute over a piece of land in their native place in Bihar between the families of Mehander Panjaira and Jagdish Panjiara.
They were cousins and had dispute over property for a long time.
At first, Mahender Panjiara got murdered by the family of Jagdish Panjiara and in turn the family of Mahender Panjiara murdered Jagdish Panjiara. The rivalry took bloody turn and till now, it has taken a toll of five lives from both sides.
All above mentioned accused after committing the crime used to take shelter at various places including airport and in vicinity of Civil Lines.
