Seven held for running fake lottery racket

Delhi Police have arrested seven people, including two foreigners, from South West Delhi for allegedly running a fake call centre and luring people to part with their money by claiming that they had won a lottery.

When the victims would give their money for the lottery, however, they would find that the accused would soon stop taking their calls and flee with their money.
The accused have been identified as Gurvinder Singh (31), Ishant Mohe (25) Harjeet Singh (30), Sunil Aggarwal (35), Kartavya Khanna, and two foreign nationals Innocent and John Ekeh.

The accused were arrested by a team of South West district's Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS), after they received complaints that they had received phone calls offering them lottery money and were asked to submit the money in certain bank accounts to get the prize money.

The AATS team tracked down the accused from South West Delhi and questioned them after which they confessed to their crimes.
