Semi-naked woman's body found in Bhalswa Dairy

New Delhi: The semi-naked body of a 50-year-woman was found abandoned at a garbage dumping site in Bhalswa Dairy on Saturday night.

Police have identified the woman and it is suspected that the woman was bludgeoned with stones and sticks. Police are awaiting the autopsy report to establish whether the woman was sexually assaulted.

Preliminary probe reveals that the deceased who lived in the slum area in Bhalswa Dairy used to collect garbage from the nearby area. The incident came to light when a passerby noticed the abandoned body of the woman and alerted the police. A team immediately visited the spot and carried out the probe.

The body bore external injury marks on her neck and head.

Police said it is too early to establish if the woman was sexually assualted and that the body has been sent for conducting the post-mortem.

A personal enmity may have led to the murder of the woman.

The jurisdictional police have taken up the case and are probing in this connection.

A team of police is also questioning the local residents in this regard.
