New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is going to be the first local body to provide cashless facilities to its 42,000 regular employees, who will receive cashless medical facilities.
SDMC Mayor Kamaljit Sahrawat said that there will be no limit to the cost of treatment although according to the pay scales of the employees, this limit has been kept for Rs 3, 5 and 7 lakh. She added that the SDMC is starting action in this direction immediately and the employees will be able to get the benefits within 2 months.
"With start of the scheme in true sense the employees will become tension-free with respect to their treatment and medical needs," Sehrawat said.
She said that the Corporation has taken action for Prevention and Control of Vector Borne Diseases much early this year than the previous years.
In the first phase, the Corporation has ordered for the supply of 900 test kits from NIV Pune instead of 600 ordered last year. With one kit, 96 people can be tested for the symptoms of Vector Borne Diseases.
