SDMC Mayor takes part in cleaning activities

NEW DELHI: Several local people in areas under jurisdiction of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Sunday joined the 'shramdan' movement for a 'Swachhata Hi Sewa' event organised here.
SDMC Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat, along with citizens and corporation workers, visited Dwarka to offer shramdaan.
She took a broom and went to parks and markets to contribute to the cleaning activities.
Sehrawat, along with a few sanitation employees, visited sevearl eateries to monitor their cleanliness situation. On finding garbage in their premises, she instructed sanitary inspectors to issue notice to the eatery owners.
She said that 'Swachhata Hi Sewa' offers an excellent opportunity to citizens to ensure cleanliness with their own efforts.
SDMC Standing Committee Chairman Bhupender Gupta was seen sweeping and collecting garbage at Raj Nagar Ward. He also administered a cleanliness pledge to students. Self help group 'My Delhi, Keep It Clean' took part in activities in Janak Puri.
