SDMC hikes entry fees for Wonder Park on Sundays
New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) hiked the entry fees for visiting the Waste to Wonder Park in Nizamuddin area on Sundays, with a view to restrict the number of visitors. According to data provided by the SDMC, more than 15,000 people visit the park on Sundays, while the capacity allows for only 10,000 visitors. The SDMC took a decision to hike the entry fees to overcome the problem of traffic congestion and incidents of vandalism as a result of the heavy rush of visitors on Sundays.
The decision will help in the smooth movement of visitors in the park and mitigate the problem of having to find a parking space outside the premises, the SDMC said in a statement. Under new entry fees, which came into effect on Sunday, visitors between the ages of 12-65 will have to pay Rs 100, children from three to 12 years will have to pay Rs 50, and students outside MCD schools will have to pay Rs 40 to enter the park.
